Love Sonnets will be a performance duet where Pieter explores his own queerness.
Love Sonnets will be part of the overarching research: the universality of love.
Four different performers, with differing gender and sexual identities will rehearse the duet and rotate the performance. In this way Pieter wants to showcase the different ways a relationship can look like, but also point out that every relationship shares the same essence: people in love with one another. The duet becomes an ode to Pieter's own sexuality.
The viewer can see this duet four times in different constellations, but still see the same work. How does the viewer react when there is a man and woman on stage, and how does that reaction change when the duet is performed by people with the different gender identities?
