For Ego Me Pieter investigated how the ego-mechanism fights the sexual and aggressive urges of the Id. The solo became a competition between the id and the ego.

The elevator in which the solo was performed became the body and the performer became the identity.

Does the identity change according to its body?

How can an identity survive within a mechanical body?

Ego Me is part of and was the seed of the general research the body as the manifestation of the identity. According to Freud's psychoanalytic theory, the id is te part of the mind that contains the sexual - Eros - and aggressive - Thanatos - drives and the ego is the part that mediates those desires. The ego-mechanism evolves to mediate between the unrealistic id and the external real world. It is the decision-making component of the personality.
