MY AUGUST FEELS LIKE DECEMBER
A solo performance by Pieter Desmet on how the soul and the body react to grief and how death creates space for growth.
When he was seven Pieter's father passed away and when he was 24 he lost his mother. Both traumatic events shape and influence the person Pieter is now. The solo My August feels like December is a memory of who Pieter was as a kid and as a young adult, before the passing of his parents.
Performed on Vivaldi's Four Season, recomposed by Max Richter, Pieter goes back and forth in time, trying to find glimpses of the naive boy he was.
Accompanied by an art restaurator and a sculpture on stage.
